The Yamaha DG amp series was a revelation upon it's launch in the late 90's. NOT a modeller, this is Yamaha's proprietary "Tube Emulation". You simply create your own patches from four main menu's ranging from Clean1 Clean2 Drive's 1 & 2 Crunch 1 & 2 and Lead 1 & 2. This has the software upgrade which includes tremolo, chorus and delays/reverbs. Midi Controlled (See Yamaha MFC10 in seperate auction) you simply recall your patches to create a sonic arsenal that blows all the other digital amps into Kingdom Come. Advanced MIDI functions include deepened/altered effects from the foot controller of the MIDI unit. You will not believe the valve sounds that come out of this valveless beauty. It responds like a valve amp in that turning your guitars volume down backs it off to a crunchy clean a la "brown sound". The lead sounds with the effects in combination are huge! This is ultra pro quality gear for any live/recording situation. Mathias Jabs is a notable user. Allan Holdsworth would use nothing else.
